Date: 1976 (?)
/ 2009-Current
Status: Concept Only
/ Prototype Pending
Development:
The original plans are believed to be lost, but before original key members had passed away, they were interviewed about the designs by
Gerald Clark of the Replica Fighters Association.
Summer of 2004, NuLANtek re-drew the body and cut the all the body formers in order to do a mock-up of just the fuselage. Due to the massive size and lack of space at the time,
the project was shelved and put in storage. In 2009, the drawings were converted to CAD and the prototype parts destroyed
to make way for the 75% F4U Corsair.
Currently, the drawings of the B-25 have been scaled back down to roughly 50%, tool paths created (CNC)
and the fuselage is nearly ready to be cut and the project re-started. The 50%
B-25 will be a scaled prototype and there is no plan to fly this version. Final-Scale and engine information will not be
released until much later into the project.
WAR will market the kits only when it is complete. Plans will only come
with kits and not sold separately.
Development will be
done by Warbird Replicas which is owned by NuLANtek. They are currently seeking funding and have had 3 approaches with one serious offer. There are no
deals on the table at the moment so investment in the project is considered open.
