He said that his mold maker did a good job capturing the shape we need but the mold itself was found to have pits in it. The mold maker was asked to start over if he could not get the pits out. 2-Sept-2005 Unfortunately, I am not able to reach the manufacturer due to the holiday. Will try next week. 8-2-2005 Sent a note to the Mfgr to call me back on a status. They should be finished now. 6-21-2005 The "MOLD" came back from the mold maker last week and is undergoing final sanding and buffing. The final step is to check for optical clarity and final mold adjustments. There still is no supplier for the internal metal frame. 5-14-2005 I called last week and the plug is basically finished and is waiting to ship to the new mold maker. 2004 The contractor put the F4U Canopy on hold in order to prepare for Oshkosh. The contractor called August 13th to give me a status. They will be starting the project again next week. We hope to see the canopy for sale in September.
