10-24-2007 I sent more email to the supplier asking for a status. If nothing has been done after all this time, I going to ask that all items be returned ASAP and I will complted the project myself. 9-7-2007 The supplier came back with price of $800 for a set. After looking over the proposal, it was obvious that the colwing was WAY over engineered. I had a two hour phone meeting with him to have him take another look. He thinks he can get it down to 600. The new approach is to have him build just the molds and have the molds shipped back the USA, and I will make them or have Gerald Clark make them for us. 12-13-2005 George Dawe called me yesterday to tell me that he was working on coming up with 1, if not 2 other Variants for the FW190 Fuel tank cover to add to our collection. 11-08-2005 The platforms that each half of the plug will be mounted to are cut and ready to be waxed. Work was done to prepare each plug half to be mounted to the plat forms. 10-18-2005 One of the purposes for sending the Cowling out was the have it straighted. The contractor did not actually do that. So, tonight webroke out the original prints and repaired the cowling ourselves. After the resin cured we brought both sides together and we had a near perfect match. The next step will be plug the holes used to mount the hing and to seal up any misc. holes. Following that, we will mount the plugs to perfect flat 1", waxed, boards. If all works well we wax up the parts and start making the master molds. 9-24-2005 The master cowl is back from being repaired and I hope to start waxing them up and start pulling molds within the next week. I will post photos next week.
