Fill, Sand & Prime
"Filling" the weave and "unveven" spots was accomplished using Poly-Fiber "SuperFil".  This is a great product!  It weighs practically nothing and is very easy to use!
The key to using "Superfil" is to use a metal plaster spatuala.  Fill the weave first, then go back and get the uneven spots.
I do not have many pictures of the underside in this set of photos, but that was the side of the aircraft I "filled" first.  Note: despite the "blotchy appearanace the surface is very smooth and even!
Note how even the stub wing came out.  once again a very smooth surface!
Of course the right side came out fantastic as well!
This photo shows a good shot of the contour of the left fuselage.
...and the right side.  Also note the "scale" like elevator and rudder "insets" simulating fabric covering!
This is a good shot of the left wing fairing and cooling/engine exhast vent.  Note the fit of the header gas tank anf the canopy!
The right side also shows the fit of the canopy and header gas tank.  This photo also shows the "hand crank" gear inspection port.
This aircraft has become so big I had to get a new hangar.  I now have a hangar of my own!  Note the model aircraft.  Some of these I have recently built most of these to pass the time!
To date this is one of my favorite pictures because it shows pretty much what my FW 190 will look like when finished.  Even the paint scheme will be similar...just kidding!
The left side also looks pretty cool!
A good work shop is essential!  While you wait for the filler to cure
you might have time, as I did, to build your daughter a go cart!
Vanessa loves hers!    (see left side of photo in background)
You know, this is actually starting to look like an aircraft!
Another picture showing how "Superfil" was used.
One more shot of the right side!
